The vision of Sehnsucht Productions is to present the Word of God to believers and nonbelievers using music and media as the means of delivery.
Our ministry is basically a missionary of the media to this generation of America and seeks to counteract the purposeless skepticism of our day. Sehnsucht Productions produces epic Biblical music and videos intended to demonstrate the wonder, mystery and awe of God. “Sehnsucht” is a German word borrowed from CS Lewis’ book Surprised by Joy. It is defined as an intense longing which, itself, is Joy. Sehnsucht points toward something incredible, mysterious and glorious just around the corner. Ultimately this joyful longing leads us to Christ.
World-renowned philosopher and theologian Ravi Zacharias has stated that in order to find purpose in life, each person must have a sense of Truth, a sense of Security, and a sense of Wonder. Sehnsucht Productions exists to bring Americans a sense of Wonder combined with Biblical Truth. The message is “boiled-down,” in that it is short and to the point, but not “watered-down” because Truth must not be compromised. Most productions will have Bible quotations and include stunning epic scores (and visuals) to engage the listener’s heart. These will be presented online, in churches, and with live concerts. We also have plans create peaceful music DVDs (pared with scriptural quotations) and place them in hospitals to minister to the sick while they recover.
It is our belief that through the Biblical Truth presented in these productions, people will find Christ or come to know him more completely. They will experience first-hand the glorious mystery of God and they may even find their purpose in life… something that hedonism and skepticism could not provide.
